Empowering Students
and Staff to Design On Brand

Viterbo University

The Challenge

Viterbo University wanted to strengthen the consistency of its visual identity across the many social media accounts run by various departments, student groups and teams. With so many creators using Canva’s free tools to design content, the university needed a solution that would bring clarity, structure and ease of use – without requiring Canva Pro accounts.

The Strategy

Neuger partnered with Viterbo to build a custom Canva brand guide that worked seamlessly within free Canva accounts. Our strategy included three components:

1. Organized Brand Assets

We assembled and labeled Viterbo’s logos, icons, athletics marks, background patterns, gradients and color palette into clearly structured Google Drive folders ready for upload into Canva.

2. Step-by-Step Setup Instructions

We developed an easy-to-follow guide that showed users how to upload brand assets, apply fonts and colors, and set up correctly sized files for social media posts, stories and printed materials, all using Canva’s free version.

3. Custom Templates

To make getting started even easier, we created plug-and-play templates for events, welcome messages and game days. Users can open a link, make a copy and tailor each design without straying from the brand.

The Outcome

The final Canva Use Guide gives the entire Viterbo community a user-friendly toolkit for creating content that looks and feels on brand. From athletics to student services to alumni engagement, anyone with a Canva account can now access the visual elements they need – organized, consistent and ready to use.
