Neuger Recognized by Minneapolis Regional Chamber as 2021 Minnesota Keystone Honored Company
December 1, 2021
Neuger is proud to announce that it has been recognized as a Minnesota Keystone Honored Company by the Minneapolis Regional Chamber. The Minnesota Keystone program focuses on corporate philanthropy and recognizes companies that donate a segment of their pre-tax earnings to charitable organizations. The Minnesota Keystone Honored Company Award is an annual award given to companies across Minnesota who donate at least 2% of their pre-tax earnings back into their community.
This year’s recipients were chosen from nearly 200 companies in the program. Serving as a model for other Minnesota businesses to follow, Neuger and fellow Honored Companies, Comcast and Colle McVoy, will be honored at the 45th annual Minnesota Keystone Luncheon in December.
Giving Back
At Neuger, we pride ourselves on giving back to the people and organizations that give to our community. Our organization has given back in many different ways over the years, including through monetary gifts, in-kind support, sponsorships and cause-related marketing, with each donation supporting a unique cause. Over the last five years, Neuger has either sponsored or donated to more than 50 nonprofit organizations and has also conducted pro-bono work for over a dozen organizations with specialties ranging from social services to environmentalism. We are proud to say that over 10% of our annual pre-taxed earnings are dedicated to giving back to our community.
But giving back doesn’t stop at money. In addition to our monetary donations, we believe our civic responsibilities are just as important. We want to support our nonprofit clients that have a commitment to improving the health, well-being and economic prosperity of our communities – with inclusiveness as a fundamental principle. When we choose an organization to support, we look for community-focused opportunities that are mutually beneficial and conducive to growth and engagement. Neuger also grants employees time to volunteer for charitable causes that are important to them. We believe this reinforces teamwork and encourages our employees to personally give to causes and/or organizations that they are passionate about. We estimate over the last five years that every employee across our agency has together contributed to over 7,500 hours giving back to their communities.
Making An Impact
Our organization believes in the importance of giving back through what you have available. Having a positive impact on your community doesn’t only depend on how much money you can donate, it also depends on how you are growing as a company or an individual. Our firm’s impact may be on a smaller scale than some of our competitors, but hopefully we can serve as a model for other small businesses and encourage them to expand their philanthropic impact in their communities by doing what they can to support the nonprofit organizations closest to them.
Thank you, Minnesota Keystone, for this recognition!
More About the Minnesota Keystone Program
The Minnesota Keystone Program, administered by the Minneapolis Regional Chamber, promotes corporate philanthropy by recognizing and honoring companies that donate at least 2% of their pre-tax earnings to charitable organizations. In 1976, 23 Minnesota companies created this program (originally known as ‘The 5% Club’) to recognize and encourage charitable giving in the state. The commitment of Minnesota Keystone participants continues to serve as an example to other businesses, both here and around the globe, and to sustain Minnesota’s spirit of generosity and sense of community. Qualifying companies have an operating presence in Minnesota and donate cash or in-kind donations, including pro-bono services, and/or employee paid volunteer time.
