Job Description

Neuger is seeking an entry-level Graphic Designer with a passion for print and digital design. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to integrate and adapt designs across mediums including: print and digital within the context of social media and web. The successful candidate will take pride in delighting clients in a broad array of industries and will demonstrate a desire to don multiple hats as part of a small and nimble team.

This role will work on a broad variety of projects within a collaborative team environment looking to become increasingly diverse. Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design

  • Generate creative ideas for the visual implementation of print and digital communications
  • Stay abreast of trends in the graphic design field
  • Produce draft designs and mockups for multiple communications channels
  • Prepare final production-ready designs for appropriate communications channels
  • Edit and color correct photos
  • Attend press checks on managed print projects
  • Coordinate and/or conduct photography/videography for clients and the agency as needed
  • Provide support to agency teams (e.g. PR and branding, advertising and web teams)
  • Follow brand standards for the agency and each of its clients
  • Generate project specs and request production cost estimates from vendor-partners
  • Coordinate production and delivery with a pool of vendors that reflect Neuger quality standards

Client Delivery

  • Grasp the vision, mission, goals and objectives of each client and work collaboratively with internal and external teams to achieve those objectives
  • Counsel clients on effective communications strategies with a focus on visual communications
  • Design and develop branding materials including: logos, color palettes and brand guidelines, helping align visual and non-visual components
  • Assist in the development of communications and marketing plans, specifically focusing on design strategy and imagery
  • Actively build and maintain client relationships to earn trust and create long-term partnerships
  • Meet all deadlines within the budget constraints provided (time and dollars)

Agency Strategy and Support

  • Support all areas of agency operations as a member of an energetic, creative and hard-working team
  • Assist in generating new business and preparing proposals
  • Participate in brainstorms, company meetings and events (internal and external)
  • Track time by the quarter-hour in the Neuger project management system
  • Vigorously pursue the agency core values of integrity, excellence and success
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Time Allocation

  • Pro-bono/volunteer – 5% | 2 hours/week
  • Billable – 80% | 32 hours/week
  • Sales – 10% | 4 hours/week
  • Professional Development – 5% | 2 hours/week

Experience/Skill Requirements

  • Some professional experience is preferred
  • Developed skill in both print and digital design
  • A bachelor of arts degree in a graphics related field
  • Experience in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
  • Experience in Microsoft/Google Suite of productivity products
  • Commitment to the values of integrity, excellence and success
  • Ability to flourish under pressure and deadlines

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Agency internship experience
  • Illustration capabilities
  • Photography and/or videography capabilities
  • Experience in other Adobe Creative Cloud programs
  • Experience in Figma and Canva design

Salary

$45,000 – $55,000

Location

Preference to be based in Northfield, MN 3 days/week (remote available 2 days). Special consideration may be made for candidates requesting to be based in our Minneapolis office.
