Industry-Centered Web App for the Minnesota Dental Association

The Minnesota Dental Association (MDA), a statewide professional membership organization representing Minnesota-licensed dentists and dental students, recognized a need for an industry-centered platform online where their members could connect with each other to sell and buy dental practices, and find one another using very specific criteria. Neuger developed a user-friendly web application for dental professionals in all stages of their careers that would function seamlessly on all computers and personal devices.

The Situation

The MDA had long relied on a classifieds style listing service to connect dentists looking for new opportunities or equipment. With many dentists nearing retirement, they recognized the need for a platform to connect buyers and sellers of practices along with job seekers and employers.

The Communications Challenge

The goal was to create a matching service and allow for advanced filtering of listings. There was a strong need to make the tool sleek as well as simple and quick to use.

The Strategy

We proposed a web-based app (later named Hesy-Re) where users could search practice listings based on industry-specific criteria including, but not limited to: location, gross revenue, patient count, number of staff members, number of operatories and associateships. The app was also designed to replace the MDA’s existing job board and now allows employers and job seekers to connect based on location, job category, specialty, experience level, part-time vs. full-time and more. These filtering and matching capabilities streamline search processes for both parties.

The Results

Since the launch of Hesy-Re in March 2018, ad revenue is up more than 100%. Dental associations in New Mexico, South Dakota and other states have signed on to advertise members’ listings, expanding the MDA’s revenue opportunities.
