Case Study
Employee Recruitment Video Production for Disability Services Nonprofit
Laura Baker Services Association (LBSA) serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing housing, offering direct support staffing and family support services, and organizing many skill-enhancing and life-enriching activities. LBSA wanted a way to recruit new employees, and tasked Neuger with developing a video series to showcase the value of their organization and how their work makes a difference.
The Situation
LBSA serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing housing, offering direct support staffing and family support services, and organizing many skill-enhancing and life-enriching activities.
The Challenge
Direct support staff care is critical to the daily living of many LBSA clients, and LBSA needed help recruiting new staff members.
The Strategy
To support employee recruiting efforts and celebrate the work of existing dedicated employees, LBSA established a goal to produce video content to share on social media. We worked alongside LBSA staff to clarify goals, messaging and strategy for the video series. With this information, the video team created a list of interview questions and coordinated interviews with current employees. This footage was combined with existing photography of staff working in the field to give viewers a sense of employees’ day-to-day work. In post-production, closed captioning transcripts were produced.
The Results
We ensured accessibility for hearing-impaired viewers and increased the chances of engagement on social media, as video content automatically disables sound on mobile devices. The video was well-received by LBSA staff and clients.
