Neuger Communications Group’s next Common Good Breakfast Series event, “Beyond Gridlock: Transportation for the Masses” will take place at the Minneapolis Hilton at 7:30 a.m. on October 24.
Getting from point A to point B is essential in our daily lives. Yet with rising congestion and costs as well as declining attention spans, free time and budgets, moving people around efficiently and equitably is no easy task. This event will foster discussion about the impact of transit systems, and explore what plans are in the works for Minnesota.
Laura Monn Ginsburg, the Owner and Principal of Apparatus will moderate the panel. Ginsburg also co-hosts Here to There, a podcast exploring the human dimension of commuting in the Twin Cities and where it could go next.
Panelists include Jonathan Weinhagen, President and CEO of the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce; Mary Morse Marti, Executive Director of Move Minneapolis; and Will Schroeer, Executive Director of East Metro Strong.
Weinhagen also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Mounds View Schools Education Foundation. Prior to joining the foundation, Weinhagen was the vice president of the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce. He serves as a Commission Member for the Shoreview Economic Development Commission and is on the Board of Directors for Pollen.
Marti also serves as the Mayoral Appointee and vice president of the Saint Paul Capital Improvement Budget Committee. She was previously the Development & Communications Director for the Neighborhood Energy Connection.
Schroeer has also worked as the Director of Infrastructure for Economic Development at the Minneapolis and Saint Paul Chambers of Commerce. Prior to this position, Schroeer was the Policy and Research Director for Smart Growth America.
The Common Good Breakfast Series contributes event proceeds to the nonprofit organization featured at each session. Proceeds of “Beyond Gridlock” will support Express Bike Shop, a social enterprise of Keystone Community Services.
Registration, breakfast and networking for the event will begin at 7:30 a.m. The formal presentation starts at 8 a.m.
“Beyond Gridlock: Transportation for the Masses” is sponsored by Engage Print and Flight Creative Media. For more information about the Common Good Breakfast Series and future topics, neuger.com/commongood.
