Christopher G. Blissett
Prior to joining Neuger Communications Group, Christopher served as the associate director of communications for St. Olaf College, where he shouldered the responsibility of helping the media cover the college’s 27 NCAA intercollegiate athletic teams, shepherded the implementation of the college’s institutional identity, and provided key communications input throughout a $125 million capital campaign. In 2001 he helped lead St. Olaf to a Minnesota PRSA (Public Relations Society of America) award for top nonprofit communications program. In 1999, he traveled to Hønefoss, Norway, to play professional basketball. While there, he also found time to teach English to elementary school students, revamp the Hønefoss web page, develop a new mascot and logo for the team, and establish relationships with corporate sponsors for the Hønefoss Golden Bears sports franchise. Christopher is a graduate of Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, with a bachelor of arts degree in creative writing. In addition to coaching youth basketball, he is the creator of Haikuesday, an every-Tuesday collection of assorted original haikus by authors in several states. His favorite word is "hippopotamus," although he prefers elephants in real life. Originally from the remote reaches of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Christopher and his wife, Hana, now reside in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. |
