Communications Counselor

Lauren MelcherLauren joined the Neuger Communications team in 2008. As a communications counselor, her primary responsibilities include writing and editing for the firm’s higher education accounts, using her background in creative writing and journalism to help institutions effectively communicate their distinct qualities. She also manages web and print publication projects and works with new technology and social media initiatives.

A graduate of St. Olaf College with a bachelor’s degree in English and management studies, Lauren is a skilled writer and experienced editor. Prior to joining the Neuger Communications Group team, she managed the internship program of Alive Arts Media and oversaw the bimonthly production of Alive Magazine, a pioneering online literary arts magazine aimed at young women. Lauren also has experience in political campaign communications, interned with New Hampshire Public Radio, and worked for the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press while studying journalism at American University in Washington D.C.

Lauren came to Minnesota by way of Texas and California and has recently settled in South Minneapolis. She admits she cannot leave a bookstore empty-handed and is happiest when she’s planning trips abroad or recreating meals from her travels. She is also active on the programming committee of the Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association.
