Richard E. Esse
Senior Communications Counselor
Rick joined the Neuger Communications Group team in January 2009, and is responsible for developing creative and strategic communications solutions for clients in a wide range of industries.
Rick began his communications career as the director of advertising for the Northfield News where, among many things, he was charged with establishing and meeting sales goals, developing specialty publications and generating advertising. After a successful tenure with the newspaper, Rick launched his own business, Esse Advertising, where across a span of 15 years he counseled clients in developing results-driven advertising campaigns and print communications solutions. Altogether Rick brings more than 25 years of communications experience to his role at Neuger Communications Group.
With a natural eye for design, color and typography, and a knack for creative writing, Rick has made a career of understanding the client’s needs and developing thoughtful, engaging solutions.
A graduate of St. Olaf College, Rick holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and philosophy. He has also received significant training in the visual arts – experience that has further developed his “jack-of-all-trades” character.
Rick lives in Northfield, Minnesota, with his wife, Pam, their college-age son, Alex, and their dog, Churchill. He enjoys reading, golfing, cheering for the Twins and the Vikings, and working on the occasional home-improvement project.
